Created in 1993, Mijade is a publishing house that specializes in picture books for young children and novels for older children and young adults. Picture books are of illustrated fiction for children between ages 2 and 7. They are designed for enjoyment within the family and also for use by pre-school, kindergarten, and primary school teachers as well as by libraries. About 50% of the published books are new creations while the other 50% are either translations or out-of-print books. As a result, Mijade offers best-selling books published within the past 25 years that both book professionals and the larger public were sorry to see disappear. In addition to its picture book catalog, Mijade has a department dedicated to small-sized books called "Petits Mijade" as well as three collections of novels, "Passages" for readers ages 6-9, "Zone J" for readers ages 9-15 and "Mijade Romans" for readers ages 15 and over.
