FRENCH WEEK, by BIEF

Rue du monde

In 1996, Alain Serres, author of 50 children’s books, created an original publishing house with the financial help of 1.000 libraries, schools and non-profit organizations. The first book, The Big Book of Children’s Rights, was published in November 1996. The catalogue now boasts more than 500 titles. What is Rue du Monde’s policy? To believe that an independent company can publish books that encourage children to discover the world and other cultures, to get rid of preconceived ideas, to understand key dates in history, to allow young readers to develop and sharpen their critical minds… without forgetting humour and imagination.
